Our servers were offline for about 3 hours this morning - between 8:55 am and
11:55 am America/New_York time. During this period, our serveres
were entirely un-reachable.
The cause of the outage was due to the company, Hurricane Electric, that
provides the Internet connection to our cabinet. They had a problem with the
router that connects their New York operations with the rest of the Internet.
In their words, they reported:
"A software defect caused our router to hang. We've updated firmware to
prevent this from repeating."
